Presents: Cristina Cassetti
Curated by Marina Faraone
Cristina Cassetti is a biologist, born and raised in Rome who has lived in the United States since 1993. One of the hobbies she has cultivated (since 2012) is that of beekeeping. She was a member of the Montgomery County Beekeepers Club for several years, first as a student and later as a bee biology teacher.
Beekeeping, the practice of artificially maintaining honey bee colonies, is one of the oldest forms of food production. It has always been and is, especially today, essential to ensure the balance of the entire ecosystem and is important for the survival and well-being of bees, the environment and our own life.
During the presentation at DIVE, Cristina will talk about her experience as a beekeeper, the biology of bees, their important role in the ecosystem and what can be done to protect them.
