Informazioni sull'evento
Let's visit with the artist the photography exhibition of Dario Zucchi at the Strathmore Music Center on April 27th from 12 to 1 pm. Husbands, partners and friends are welcome.
The artist himself Dario Zucchi will illustrate his works exhibited at the Strathmore Music Center in North Bethesda. The exhibition is curated by Eric Denker, senior lecturer and head of tours and lectures at the National Gallery of Art.
Dario Zucchi captures the balance between life and art. His photographs capture viewers contemplating works of art that, unknowingly, share visual elements with the work itself. Elements of color, lines, shapes, and light connect and merge the work of art and the viewer portrayed, creating an original and unique effect that Dario Zucchi hopes will make us smile and have fun!

About the artist, Dario Zucchi – Dario Zucchi was born in Milan, Italy in 1938. After earning his degree in economics at the Bocconi University in Milan, he worked in international real estate development and investment in Italy, Switzerland, Canada, and Mexico. In 1979 he moved to the United States where he is still professionally active in the Washington DC area.
During the past twenty-five years, he has developed his talents as a photographer, exploring both the natural world and the world of museum and gallery visitors. From 2000 until 2009 his work was regularly shown in group exhibitions in the Washington regional area. In 2010 Zucchi achieved notable successes in large scale exhibitions including I Fratelli Zucchi, shown at the Arts Club of Washington, and in the ArtconFusion show at the Antico Oratorio della Passione at the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio in Milan. These early successes led to major retrospective shows in Italy, in 2012 and in Pisa, Tuscany in 2014, both accompanied by fully-illustrated catalogues. In 2013, Zucchi also had one-person shows at the Embassy of Italy in Washington, DC and in the village of Teguise on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. In 2015 Zucchi returned to the Arts Club in Washington with The Eye of the Beholder. In 2017, Dario had another extensive retrospective in Italy at the prestigious Villa Giulia, in Verbania, Lombardy, and in 2018 he showed sixty photographs in the exhibition The Unexpected Smile at The Mansion at Strathmore, in North Bethesda, Maryland. In addition, sixty-seven of Zucchi's photographs were exhibited at Georgetown University Hospital's Lombardi Center from 2019 through 2021. For the last four years, twenty-two of his most significant photographs have been on long-term loan to the Comcast Member's Lounge at the Strathmore Music Center in Rockville. In addition, in the last three years Dario has had one-person shows at The Cosmos Club in Washington, and at the Stanford in Washington Art Gallery. Zucchi is the subject of two substantial monographs, the 2018 Dario Zucchi at 80 and the 2021 Dario Zucchi at 80+3.
